Bookkeeper
DBM Equipment Repair (Design. Build. Maintain.) is a growing heavy equipment repair, maintenance, and rental company serving the construction and mining industries across Northern Nevada. DBM has built a reputation on personable customer service, efficiency, and quality, all at a lower cost than the big dealers. Now, they're looking for a seasoned bookkeeping professional who's ready to plant roots and grow with them.
This is a critical, highly trusted role that serves as the financial and operational backbone of the company. If you thrive in a small-team environment where people actually know your name, and you're looking for a career home, not a stepping stone, this is worth a conversation.
What You'll Do: This is a true dual-role position split equally between full-cycle accounting and office/HR administration. You'll work on-site in Fernley with a flexible Monday–Friday schedule that typically stays within 40 hours per week.Accounting (~50%)
- Own full-cycle AP/AR — invoice coding, vendor payments, customer invoicing, payment posting, and collections
- Complete month-end close independently; perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review financial statements for accuracy and flag discrepancies
- Process weekly customer billing on schedule
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
- Collaborate with outside support to review books at month-end
Office & HR Administration (~50%)
- Process weekly payroll through a third-party platform; serve as the go-to for employee payroll questions
- Administer medical, dental, and vision benefit enrollments and renewals
- Support 401(k) enrollment and employee inquiries
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls — the capable, personable face (and voice) of the office
- Support onboarding/offboarding and maintain HR documentation
- Coordinate office supplies and general administrative operations
Must Have:
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, full-cycle AP/AR, independent month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliation

- Benefits enrollment administration (medical/dental/vision and 401(k))
- Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, linked worksheets) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Comfortable handling multi-line phones and working directly with field staff
- A systems mindset, you can learn new software without needing full documentation
- On-site availability in Fernley, NV
Nice to Have:
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Familiarity with Paychex, ADP, or similar payroll platforms
- Construction or equipment services industry background
- Collections experience, comfortable picking up the phone and having the tough conversation
- Health Insurance: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for the employee, 401(k), PTO & Holiday pay.
